EVANA
I have so much to say about my year in Latvia in BJMK school that, to be honest, I don't know where to start. I met some wonderful people (at the school and even other volunteers), had some crazy experiences, learned, grew, traveled all over the country, became very attached to this new culture, and above all, I fell in love with music again.
My arrival in Jelgava was a bit chaotic emotionally speaking. I admit that during the first few days, I wondered a little bit about what I was doing there. Despite the kindness of everyone around me, I had a hard time finding my own place (thank you, Zane, for your support during those moments). Latvians can seem a little cold at first, but in reality they are very warmhearted and welcoming once they get to know you better. So if this happens to you, know that it's perfectly normal!
Give yourself a little time to discover your new environment and you'll soon feel better :)
As for the mission itself, take the time to do things you enjoy, whether it's during your free time (travel, travel, travel!) or during your working hours ! For example, I've always loved video editing and creating designs on Canva, so I offered to create posters for school events and make short videos for BJMK's social media. Bring your own touch to make your adventure even more unique, and above all, don't hesitate to talk to others about your passions, your country, and your culture :)
I figured out what I want to do in the future.
I saw that I could accomplish great things.
I realized that the most important thing is to believe in yourself.
I learned to overcome my shyness.
I am no longer afraid to let people into my life and allow myself to be loved.
myself.
For everything, BJMK, thank you. A little piece of my heart will always be a part of you.
